Our Happy Travellers

The tours are all led by archeologists and my guide, Raquel was extremely knowledgeable and also very pleasant company. A fantastic overview of the Lisbon earthquake and everything connected with it as well as a lot of Lisbon history that isn’t in the tour guides. Not to mention talking about current issues in Portugal. And Raquel had suggestions about restaurants and other things to do and see. At 20 euros for a private tour, this is a wonderful bargain and experience.
We are interested in recent social history. So this tour about the 25th April 1974 Portuguese revolution was so much more interesting to us than the run of the mill tourist tours. Inês, our tour guide was so knowledgable and interesting even though it lasted for 3 hours the time was up before we know it. This tour is normally only available on the 25th April in Portuguese but they kindly arranged a special tour for us as they were surprised English people were interested in their revolution. Inês was able to bring real personal detail to the tour by telling us how her family were involved. Her Dad went missing for 3 days as the revolution was taking place and she was born 3 days after and there were celebrations in the hospital Inês Mum was staying in. It was fascinating to hear Inês’s personal connection with the revolution! It brought it home to us like it happened yesterday! If they will do it again in English you must do this tour!!!!
Personal tailor made tourism guides to Lisbon & surrounding areas. Archaeologists with a wonderful insight & in depth knowledge of political, social & architectural history of this amazing city.
As an architect with an interest in historic buildings, this tour was amazing ….. With wonderful off the beaten track locations and ancient moorish ruins, Jewish quarter, crusader, historic & more recent tit-bits of information made Time Travellers a truly rewarding time shared walking the streets, lane ways, squares, cafés etc. that was moulded to clients interests as it progressed. The highlight of our week long stay in Lisbon …..
