Lisbon legends and myths
The Tour
Did you know that Lisbon is full of legends and urban myths?
Join us in this walk and explore the city in a different point of view, in search of the enigmas that still deceive many visitors and inhabitants of Lisbon.
Secret tunnels, dodgy characters and stories that really didn’t happen that way… In a city with many centuries there is a mystery in every corner and they will all surprise you during this Walk. Do we all descend from Ulysses? How many hills are there in Lisbon? Who lived in a dark courtyard next to the prison?
All these questions are waiting in the beautiful streets and squares of the city, but in the Downtown Area all the mysteries revolve around one famous person. Was the Marquis de Pombal, the king’s trusted aide who rebuilt the city of Lisbon after the earthquake a member of the freemasons? Is the downtown area built according to the principles of this secret society, or are all the clues just a big coincidence?
Answer these and other questions in our Walk and be surprised with all the stories that Lisbon usually doesn’t tell!
